If unused, these funds revert back to the federal government rather than directly benefitting Californians. All funds must be encumbered no later than June 30, 2009 and liquidated by September 29, 2009. The Probation Department will develop a Youth Gang Awareness training program for Parents and Youth at risk of becoming gang members. The program will provide training to Court Officers, JJCPA deputies as well as to parents and minors on Probation. r i . i THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Resolution on December 16th, 2008 by the following vote: sE AYES: GIOIA, UILKEMA, FiEPHO, BONILLA &GLOVER I NOES: NONE of ; mfln ,� ABSENT NONE ,4 ABSTAIN NONE --= :- : SUBJECT: In the matter of the Juvenile Accountability ) Resolution No. 2008/ �S Block Grant (JABG) Program Gang ) Intervention Grant ) WHEREAS,the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa desires to receive and utilize federal grant funds available through the Juvenile Accountability Block Grants(JABG) Program administered by-the Corrections Standards Authority (hereafter referred to as CSA). NOW, THEREFORE,-,BE IT RESOLVED that the County Probation Officer of the County of Contra Costa, Lionel ©l Chatman, is authorized on behalf of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa to submit the JABG application and sign the Grant Agreement with the CSA, including any amendments thereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Contra Costa agrees to provide all matching funds required for said project,and abide by the statues and regulations governing the JABG Program as well as the.termsand conditions of the Grant Agreement as set forth by CSA. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT grant funds received will be encumbered by June 30, 2009 and liquidated by September 29,2009,and no requests for extension will be submitted.
