This request was made pursuant to a 1998 CCRCD resolution ordering that all future directors shall be appointed by the County Board of Supervisors in lieu of election (Public Resources Code Section 9314). If the Board of Supervisors fails to make the appointments within 60 days after the expiration of the terms, or by approximately January 29, 2009, then the District Board of Directors may make the appointments. The Board of Supervisors maintains a policy to consider all interested candidates for seats it appoints. The District advertised the vacancies and received three applications for the three seats, all from incumbents. Since the number of applications received was not greater than the number of vacant seats, the IOC waived the interview process and approved the re-appointment of the incumbents Igor Skaredoff, Dwight Meadows, and Thomas D.
