FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact on County General Funds. Funding is derived from assessments from the Countywide Lighting and Landscaping District (LL-2), Zone 7 and Special Revenue Funds via the Redevelopment Agency. (58%LL-2 Zone 7 and 42% Special Revenue Funds via the Redevelopement Agency) (District IV) Project No.: 784- 6X5405/6X5203 DATE: December 16, 2008 PAGE: 2 REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: As a County contractor, the Contra Costa Centre Association has provided management oversight of landscape maintenance activities within Countywide Lighting and Landscaping District,Zone 7. The agreement has been in effect since July 1, 2001 and remains in effect from fiscal year to fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Current annual payment limits have been set at $81,700 annually. The requested contract amendment will increase the contract payment by$7,700 to a new payment limit of$89,400. Tile additional funding will be provided from Special Revenue Funds managed by the Redevelopment Agency for the maintenance of Walden Green, which is adjacent to Zone 7. This increase in funds will cover the increased expenses of landscape maintenance and graffiti abatement within the Walden Green corridor. This change would become effective December 1, 2008. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without Board approval, Contra Costa Centre Association will not be able to provide any of the necessary landscape maintenance services for Walden Green in Contra Costa Centre Area, and cost savings will not be realized.
