HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162007 - C.61 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS �E=` - -�� Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Costa otw. ,IF. r.4" J'z By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator 0 k DATE: October 3, 2007--- '�`� County a cnul`� J SUBJECT: Approval of Contract 474-322 with Youth Homes Incorporated C . e1 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION R.ECOMM F,N DATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #74-322 with Youth Homes Incorporated, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,752,324, to provide residential treatment services for County-referred youth in the Contra Costa Collaborative Continuum of Care (C) Program, for the period from September 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. This Contract included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2008, in an amount not to exceed 51,051,394. FISCAL INIPACT: This Contract is funded 37% by Federal Financial Participation (FFP) Medi-Cal, 34% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT), 15% State SB163 funds, 10% Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA/SB 90), and 5% Mental Health Realignment(Required County Match). CHILDREN'S INIPACT STATEMENT: This CS program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School"; "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and placement at discharge to a lower level of care. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides residential day treatment services, including intensive day treatment, medication support, crisis intervention, and other mental health services, including wrap-around, to Medi-Cal eligible Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children, and their families, who have been referred by the C' Interagency Team, in order to keep them out of higher levels of placement, Under Contract#74-322, Youth Homes Incorporated will provide residential day treatment services through :lune 30, 2008.
