FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of$333,312.00 which will be funded by monies from service and permit fees
charged by the Environmental Health Department. This action will result in no net County cost.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department has requested a reallocation of the Environmental Health Technician, Environmental Health Specialist
Trainee, Environmental Health Specialist I, Environmental Health Specialist II, and the Supervising Environmental Health Specialist
salaries due to significant recruiting and retention issues.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, the Environmental Health Department will not be able to recruit and retain Environmental
Health Specialists which would severely impact the Department's ability to provide effective Environmental Health services
to the residents of Contra Costa County.
