BACKGROUND: ElderCare and Fiduciary Services provides money management services to Aging and Adult Services clients. Services include protection for clients who are isolated or homebound due to health conditions, and whose cognitive functioning is impaired to the extent they require assistance and support in making and carrying out decisions regarding personal finances. Frail elderly people may need assistance with managing household finances because they may not have a trustworthy person to rely upon. Failure to meet personal financial obligations may result in eviction, disconnection of utilities or jeopardizes eligibility for programs such as SSI or Medi-Cal. Money management services help insure a stable living environment. Contractor services include: bill paying, provision of spending money to the client, representative payee or bill payer designation for client's monthly income, and conservatorship duties, if granted by the court. 40-231-1
