SUBJECT: Apply for Grant from Contra Costa Community College District (CCCCD)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or
designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board, to apply for and accept grant
funding from Contra Costa Community College District (CCCCD) in an amount not to
exceed $10,000 for participation in the Contra Costa Multimedia Expansion Project for
the period September 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.
FISCAL IMPACT:

SUBJECT: Apply for Grant from Contra Costa Community College District (CCCCD)
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports one the community outcomes established in the Children's
Report Card: 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are
Safe, Stable and Nurturing," by providing employment development opportunities.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa Multimedia Expansion Project brings together the Contra Costa
Community College District (CCCCD) with industry partners, the Contra Costa Small
Business Development Center, an agency of the Workforce Development Board, as
well as the ROP and Contra Costa County Office of Education to leverage a variety of
resources to meet the needs of Contra Costa County Business and industry, with a
focus on addressing the needs of small business.
