SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20202 adding eight (8) permanent full-time Social
Worker (XOVC) positions. (Represented)
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $1,448,000.00. These positions are funded
through AB 1808 CalWORKS Improvement Allocation.
BACKGROUND:
The Department is requesting these additions to enhance the Department's efforts for the continued
engagement of CaIWORKS/Welfare-to-Work clients. The additional positions will be assigned
specialized client outreach and engagement assignments in the CaIWORKS/Welfare-to-Work
program.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Department is unable to add these positions, the CaIWORKS/Welfare-to-Work program will
have insufficient staff to provide services to the community.
