CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Local Planning Council for Child Care suyppports all of the five County community outcomes: Children Ready for and Succeeding in School; Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood; Families That are Economically Self-Sufficient; Families That are Safe, Stable and Nurturing; and Communities That are Safe and Provide High Quality of Life for Children and Families. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): The Contra Costa County Local Planning Council for Child Care and Development (LPC) was established in April 1998. Required by AB 1542, which was passed in 1993, members of the LPC are appointed by the County Board of Supervisors and the County Superintendent of Schools. Childcare consumers and providers, public agency representatives, and community representatives each comprise.20% of the LPC. The remaining 20% are discretionary appointees. I am moving out of state. With great difficulty I am resigning from my LPC position. My last official meeting will be December 7,2006. 1 have had the pleasure of working with some amazing and deeply committed child care professionals. It has been fulfilling to be a part of the process and to watch the growth and development of LPC.
