BACKGROUND:
Ambrose Recreation and Park District was selected through a competitive process
(RFP 1085) to provide services in Bay Point under the Promoting Safe and Stable
Families program. Ambrose, as lead and fiscal agent, will implement the Youth
Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) Project, a program that will provide Bay Point teens with
an array of services including youth development and leadership opportunities.
Contractor will partner and collaborate with Mt. Diablo Unified School District's
(MDUSD) Collaborative for Academic Recreation Enrichment Services for Students
(CARES). The YOU umbrella of services will combine the youth and family-oriented
programs provided through the Teen Center at Ambrose Community Center and the
Youth Development Leadership Corps (YLDC) at the MDUSD CARES after-school
program, to expand opportunities for low-income Bay Point youth between the ages of
12-18 years.
