CFDP 6008 Amend 1 January 16, 2006
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
The Community Services Department's Head Start program supports two of Contra Costa
County's community outcomes: "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School" and "Families .
that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing." These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive
services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-
income children throughout Contra Costa County.
BACKGROUND:
On September 12, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved agreement CFDP 6008
with the California Department of Education for full-day preschool programs to be
provided by Contra Costa County Community Services Department. The proposed
agreement amendment (1) will add $34,124 for a new total payment limit of$394,521
due to a daily maximum reimbursable rate change from $30.04 to a new rate of
$32.89 per child. The State routinely adds dollars to child development contracts
after initial execution, prior to the close of the fiscal year.
