FISCAL IMPACT: $11,000: 100% Veolia Mitigation Funds. BACKGROUND: Overseen by the Contra Costa County Service Integration Program, the Verde Involving Parents (VIP) Program is a team effort of parents, teachers, county agencies and non- profit organization staff who live and work in North Richmond. The VIP Program strives to increase student attendance, improve student behavior and enhance parent/family member involvement at the North Richmond Verde Elementary School. VIP has received local, statewide, and national recognition. In 2002, Contra Costa County was awarded a "2003 Achievement Award" from the National Association of Counties for the work of the VIP Program. VIP was awarded the grand prize as the "California Gold Community" winner at the 2002 California Partnership Awards. 29-246-0
