BACKGROUND: This Board Order will authorize the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) to continue the services under the Parent Aide program in Central and East County provided by Family Stress Center. The Parent Aide program provides transportation services to and from school, medical, dental and counseling appointments, supervised family visits, and other support services to families in Contra Costa County. Parent Aides provide short-term services on a case-by-case basis, seven days per week to children and families that do not require the direct attention of a Child Welfare Services (CWS) caseworker, thereby assisting caseworkers to more efficiently manage their cases.
