SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or
designee, to execute a contract with Deloitte Consulting, a Limited Liability Partnership
(LLP), in an amount not to exceed $240,000 to provide Post-CaIWIN (California Works
Information Network) Implementation Support Services, for the period February 12,
2007 through August 10, 2007.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$240,000: 100% CaIWIN Funding (20% County; 80% State)

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children's
Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and
Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are
Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5)
"Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and
Families," by providing enhanced data management services for CaIWORKs
participants.
BACKGROUND:
Deloitte Consulting, LLP, holds a State contract for the implementation and transition
change from legacy computer systems to the California Works Information Network
(CaIWIN) system. Deloitte staff has been working at Department locations for more
than a year providing necessary services in the transition to CaIWIN. The Department
still requires Deloitte Consulting services in the post-CaIWIN implementation process.
