SUBJECT: Amend Contract with Contra Costa County Public Auto Auction
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children's
Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and
Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are
Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5)
"Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and
Families," by providing economical and reliable transportation to CaIWORKs
participants.
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) created the Keeping
Employment Equals Your Success (KEYS) Auto Loan Program for CaIWORKs
participants who need a personal automobile to complete their transition to self-
sufficiency and to support the Contra Costa County Welfare to Work Transportation
Action Plan. The KEYS Auto Loan Program targets CaIWORKs participants and in
coordination with Contra Costa Federal Credit Union, for auto loan funding, Contractor
will provide vehicle storage, vehicle maintenance, and processing of sales documents
for vehicles selected by KEYS participants.
This contract amendment will enable contractor to continue providing vehicle
maintenance and sales of vehicles to KEYS Auto Loan Program participants with no
change in payment limit. Funds allocated for the program under last year's contract
remain unspent.
