FISCAL IMPACT: There is a cost savings associated with this action. BACKGROUND: An Accountant II position was vacated on January 5, 2007 in the Accounting Division of Public Works. The Division has reorganized and reassigned the budget and the position's other complex duties to the remaining Accountant II. However, in order for the remaining Accountant II to concentrate on the higher-level duties of the position, an additional position is needed to perform the less complex duties. Staff reviewed the additional duties and is recommending adding an Accounting Technician.
