C " -7 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION i RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Art Lathrop) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-366-5 with Ecology and Environmental, Inc., a corporation, effective February 1, 2007, to increase the payment limit by $10,000 from $50,100 to a new total of$60,100 with no change in the original term of April 1, 2006 through August 31, 2007. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) National Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Program, through the State Department of Health Services. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On April 25, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-366-2 (as amended by subsequent Agreements #23-366-3 and #23-366-4), with Ecology and Environment, Inc, for the period from April 1, 2006 through August 31, 2007, for provision of emergency management consulting, and training services to :facilitate a Countywide Exercise Plan for Hospitals, Clinics, Pubic Health and the Emergency Medical System. Approval of Contract Amendment .Agreement #23-366-5 will allow the Contractor to provide additional emergency management services including enhancing and expanding the existing Contra Costa County Asset Logistics And Resource Management System (ALARMS) to support the coordination of resources, especially during an emergency, in order to improve the exchange of emergency response resource data information, through August 31, 2007.
