SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract
amendment with Hernandez Cleaning Services effective March 1,2007,to increase the payment limit
by$25,000 to anew payment limit of$50,000 and to extend the term from March 1, 2007 to March 1,
2009 for Janitorial Services to the Livorna Park Restrooms, Alamo area. (County Service Area R-7A

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with
Hernandez Cleaning Services effective March 1,2007,to increase the payment limit by$25,000 to a new payment
limit of$50,000 and to extend the term from March 1,2007 to March 1,2009 for Janitorial Services to the Livorna
Park Restrooms.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. All costs will be covered by County Service Area R-7A.

REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
On March 1,2005,the Board approved a contract with Hernandez Cleaning Services to provide janitorial services to
the Livorna Park restrooms in Alamo, County Service Area R-7A. Hernandez Cleaning Services was awarded the
contract after submitting the lowest bid in the County's Small Business Enterprise and Outreach Programs.
Hernandez Cleaning Services has provided janitorial services that are adherent to their contract and satisfactory to
the Community and County Staff. This contract amendment is required to ensure consistent upkeep and cleanliness
of the Livorna Park restrooms.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without the Board of Supervisors' approval, an alternate means to provide janitorial services to the Livorna Park
restrooms would have to be identified. This may result in a period which the County would not have any restroom
maintenance at Livorna Park.
