(County Service Area R-7A Funds) (District III) Project No. 7758-6X5581 DATE: February 13, 2007 PAGE: 2 of 2 REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: On March 1,2005,the Board approved a contract with Hernandez Cleaning Services to provide janitorial services to the Livorna Park restrooms in Alamo, County Service Area R-7A. Hernandez Cleaning Services was awarded the contract after submitting the lowest bid in the County's Small Business Enterprise and Outreach Programs. Hernandez Cleaning Services has provided janitorial services that are adherent to their contract and satisfactory to the Community and County Staff. This contract amendment is required to ensure consistent upkeep and cleanliness of the Livorna Park restrooms. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without the Board of Supervisors' approval, an alternate means to provide janitorial services to the Livorna Park restrooms would have to be identified. This may result in a period which the County would not have any restroom maintenance at Livorna Park.
