SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Patricia Tanquary), to
execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-549-5 with Family Planning Specialists Medical
Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, for the provision of OB/GYN
services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period.November 1, 2007 through October 31,
2008.
FISCAL IMPACT'
This Contract is by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member premiums. Costs depend
upon utilization.
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
On November 14, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-549-4 with Family
Planning Specialists Medical Group, Inc., for the period November 1, 2006 through October 31,
2007 to provide professional OB/GYN services to Contra Costa Health Plan members.
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services
for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts
with the County.
Approval of this Contract #27-549-5 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide OB/GYN
services, through October 31, 2009.
