HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11062007 - C.85 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS on ra FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Costa By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator �;, x DATE: October 22, 2007 -----0 County.h/ SUBJECT: Approval of Novation Contract#24-928-12 with Fred Finch Children's Home,Inc., (dba Fred Finch Youth Center) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(s): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24-928-12 with Fred Finch Children's Home, Inc., (dba Fred Finch Youth Center), a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,599,587, to provide school and community based. mental health services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed students in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and their families, for the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2008, in an amount not to exceed 9799,794. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 31% by Federal Medi-Cal Revenue, 31% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostics, and Treatment Program, 13% Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and 25% by Mt. Diablo Unified School District. No County funds are required. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School"; "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). On December 12, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-928-10 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #24-928-11) with Fred Finch Youth Center for the period from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, (which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2007) for the provision of school-based mental health services. Approval of Novation Contract #24-928-12 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2008.
