SUBJECT: Approval of Contract#74-184-56(3)with Turning Point Counseling Center
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute
on behalf of the County, Contract #74-184-56(3) with Turning Point Counseling Center, a non-
profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, to provide Medi-Cal mental health
specialty services, for the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009.
FISCAL,IMPACT:
This Contract is funded by 49% State and 51% Federal FFP Medi-Cal Funds.
BACKGROUND/RF.ASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
On March 8, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-184-56(2) with Turning Point
Counseling Center, for the period April 1, 2005 through June 30, 2007, for the provision of Medi-
Cal mental health specialty services.
Completion of the Contract has been delayed due to the complexity of the negotiation process with
the Contractor. County and Contractor has agreed to continue the Contract so that services are not
disrupted.
Approval of Contract #74-184-56(3) will allow the Contractor to continue to provide Medi-Cal
mental health specialty services through June 30, 2009.
