I I FISCAL IMPACT: There is a cost savings associated with this action. BACKGROUND: Due to the recent restructuring of the Public Works Accounting Division, the higher level duties performed by the vacant Accounting Technician position,have been reassigned to the Account Clerk Supervisor to increase efficiency within the Division. Staff has reviewed the additional lower-level job duties of the(Accounting Technician position and has determined that an additional Account Clerk — Advanced Level will be needed to perform these specialized accounting tasks. I The additional Account Clerk —Advanced level position will be responsible for managing the drainage and traffic mitigation fees, preparing fee quotes for other agencies, distributing drainage and area of benefit fee schedules, auditing and reconciling fees collected by Public Works and performing other advanced clerical accounting tasks. This position will regluire specialized knowledge of public fees and their work processes and situations. I I � I CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should this request not be granted, a decrease in efficiency will occur in the Accounting Divisions of General Services.
