Lewis, Washington; and WHEREAS, Jim McMillan moved to Corvallis, Oreg&iin 1,047 and attended Oregon State University from 1948 to . 1952 and was the first African Americaimo graduate wrth�a�B A i i�Pharrnacy from that school and only the third African-American, at that time, to graduate from"Oregon State,-and' WHEREAS, after moving to Berkeley in 1952,Jim McMillan held-his first job working ut'a pharmacy in West Oakland from 1952 to,1954, worked ui Brookside Hospital's newly opened:pharmacy frau-,1954 to 1956, and worked at Contra Costa Couri 's 8rr ty ' Stfecf Clinic Pharmacy from 1956 to 1958 where he served wrtlf�Dr. George Degnan; and WHEREAS, in 1958; mIVlcMillanmoved to Richmond and opened they"6`!'
