We are also working with Martinez Adult Education, the Muir Heritage Land Trust and the Urban Creeks Council to restore a portion of Alhambra Creek I and integrate it into the campus and curriculum of Vicente Martinez High School- I As a member of the Alhambra Creek Watershed Planning (now Action) Group, I played an active rote in developing and writing the Alhambra Creek Watershed Management Plan. The RCD played a central role in this CRMP process, and this experience is one of my motivations to become more involved with the RCD. I art presently part of a team that is developing a watershed map that we intend to publish in the Fall at a watershed festival that we are also in the process of developing. As a member of the Contra Ccsta VJatershed Forum. I have been active in various projects such as developing a county-wide Symposium to help coordinate and facilitate watershed activities throughout the county. I am a member of the Concord Naval Weapons Station Restoration Advisory Board. which provides community input to the Navy in cleaning up contaminated sites on the Weapons Station land. My 35 year of experience as a process chemist for Shell and my 10+years of experience as a member of the Fire Crew, the Hazardous Materials Response Action Team (RAT) and as an instructor at the Reno Fire School and C+years of teaching Hazardous Materials Chemistry at the University of Nevada Fire Science Acaaemy has proven very useful in this work These are ali activities 1 participate ir. voluntarily as I am now retired from Shell. While at Shell. one of my roles in organizational development was to coach numerous "Communications Workshops"and `Team-Building Workshops'. I feel this has been an extremely enr-chino part of my career. From my perspective, the work of the RCD is relevant to ail these areas, and I have been the recipient of heip from RCD staff and Board members in many of them. 1 have been a client of the RCD and would be honored to become a contributing member of this organization Slrc rely.
