RECOMMENDATION: AUTHORIZE relief of cash shortage in Sheriff's inmate trust account in the amount of $464.00 as recommended by the Auditor-Controller. Il. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Cash shortage in the amount of $464.00. III. BACKGROUND: In accordance with the provisions of Administrative Bulletin 207.6, the Office of the Sheriff- Coroner requested relief of a cash shortage in Sheriff's inmate trust account in the amount of $464.00. It has been determined that the shortage was not due to negligence on the part of the department. The Auditor-Controller recommends, and the County Administrator's Office concurs, that the Board of Supervisors grant relief of shortage to the Office of the Sheriff-Coroner for these funds. Ybarra, Auditor-ControllerA SUBJECT: Relief of Shortage at Sheriff-Coroner West County Detention Facility We have reviewed the attached request for relief of shortage for the West County Detention Facility in the amount of$464.00 that occurred March 28, 2000. In accordance with the provisions of Administrative Bulletin 207.6, since the amount of loss exceeds $250 the matter should be presented to the Board of Supervisors for action.
