HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01172006 - C.30 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 3o FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director _'' COCItI a By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator " Costa 40 DATE: January 4, 2006 999COSTq CpUN��a County SUBJECT: Approve Standard(Amendmlent)Agreement#29-388-47 with the State Department of Health Services for AIDS Program Funding SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approved and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.), to execute on behalf of the County, Standard (Amendment)Agreement #29.388-47 (#04-35344, A-02) with the State Department of Health Services Office of AIDS, effective July 1, 2005, to increase the I Payment Limit from $3,414,223 by $349,538 to a new total Payment Limit of$3,763,761 with no change in the original term from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007. FISCAL IMPACT: This Amendment increases the maximum reimbursed amount of State funding for FY 2005-2006 by $349,538 for a new total amount of$3,763,761 of this three year agreement. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND/ (S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): The Master Agreement incorporates a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for each service component of the AIDS program which defines the services to be provided and the budget. The MOUs are negotiated by staff of the State Office of AIDS and the County's AIDS Program representatives. The State requires only that the MOUS be signed by the State Office of AIDS Chief and the County's Health Officer, or his designee. This streamlines and expedites the contracting procedure for the AIDS Program,as only the Master Grant Agreement and any formal amendments to the Master Grant Agreement require County Board of Supervisors and State Department of Finance approval. On December 7, 2004, the (Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement .#29-388.45 (as amended by Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29.388-46) with the State Department of Health Services, for the County's AIDS Programs including testing services, surveillance, case management, prevention education, outreach, social marketing, and services to women, for the period from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007. Approval of this Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-388-47 will allow the County to continue providing additional HIV prevention education services, through June 30, 2007.
