RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution to INCREASE HOURS for seven Registered Nurses:
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annual cost increase for these actions are $153,327.04 which is the costs associated with the salaries and increased
benefits related to the additional hours added to each position. The cost will be offset by the hours previously paid as
straight overtime for the additional hours worked over the current position hours.
BACKGROUND:
The Department has requested to increase the hours for the following positions:

The hours of these positions are being increased in accordance with the agreement between the County and the
California Nurses Association. The agreement states the employee wishing to increase their hours submit a request to
the department. The request will be evaluated on the basis of actual hours worked by the employee over the past six
months and the anticipated need for the assignment on an increased basis.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should this request not be granted, the Health Services Department will continue to use temporary positions at the
Behavioral Health Center.
