BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
The Building Inspection Department continues to experience strong
demand for Inspection Services. The robust construction activity in the
unincorporated areas continues unabated despite fluctuations in the interest
rate. Major developers continue to develop new communities and owners of
existing homes continue to enhance their properties. The Department's
contract cities continue to experience strong construction and therefore
require the services of the Department.
The Department has therefore entered into contracts with four qualified
building inspectors for the provision of professional inspection services.
Omar Noorzad is one of the professionals that the Department has been
relying on to respond to the demand for inspection services. This
authorization will increase the contract amount by$50,000 to a new contract
limit of $74,500 at the rate of $35 per hour. The contract term is also being
amended from the original November 1, 2005 through October 31 , 2006 to
a new term of March 1 , 2006 through February 28, 2007.
