SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: ADOPT Resolution No. 2006/ratifying the prior decision of the Public Works Director to fully close a portion of 2"d Avenue on February 25, 2006 from 10:00 am through 6:00 pm, for the purpose of the 41h Annual Crockett Mardi Gras, Crockett area. (District II) FISCAL IMPACT: None. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: Applicant shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Applicant will not have Board approval for completed road closure. (District II) RC-06-1 IT IS BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that permission is granted to the Crockett Chamber of Commerce to fully close 2nd Avenue, except for emergency traffic, on February 25, 2006 for the period of 10:00 am through 6:00 pm, subject to the following conditions: 1. Traffic will be detoured via neighboring streets per plan reviewed by Public Works. 2. All signing to be in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices including the California Supplement. 3. Crockett Chamber of Commerce shall comply with the requirements of the Ordinance Code of Contra Costa County. 4. Provide the County with a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for Comprehensive General Public Liability which names the County as an additional insured prior to permit issuance. 5. Obtain approval for the closure from the Sheriff's Department,the California Highway Patrol and the Fire District.
