SHIU, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR Costa :off DATE: December 5, 2006 q SUBJECT: ADOPT Resolution No. 2006/_A1K:&pproving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute Master Agreement No. 04-5928R with the State of California, Department of Transportation for State funds and subsequent program supplements for use on local transportation facilities as required in the State Agreement, Countywide (All Districts) DATE: December 5, 2006 PAGE: 2 of 2 FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the General Fund. The proposed agreement will allow the County to apply and receive State and Federal funds. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: So that the County is able to apply for State and Federal funds for road and bridge projects the State requires that the referred master agreement be in place. The agreement is between the County and the State and outlines the responsibilities of each party in the use and distribution of any awarded funds. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this agreement is not executed the County be ineligible to receive any State or Federal funds to repair or build County roads. THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Resolution on December 5, 2006 by the following vote: AYES: Uilkema,Piepho, Glover and Gioia NOES:-- None—— — -- VACANT: DISTRICT IV SUPERVISOR DESAULNIER i ABSTAIN: None RESOLUTION NO. 2006/ ?-SV SUBJECT: ADOPT Resolution No. 2006/_ g approving and authorizing the Public Works Director,or designee,to execute Master Agreement No. 04-5928R with the State of California, Department of Transportation for State funds and subsequent program supplements for use on local transportation facilities as required in the State Agreement, Countywide (All Districts) The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES: WHEREAS, an Administering Agency-State Agreement for State Funded Projects Master Agreement No. 04-5928R has been presented to this Board; and WHEREAS, said Agreement is a master procedural agreement with the California Department of Transportation for State Funds setting forth terms and conditions under which State Funds may be utilized for improvement projects within the County; and WHEREAS,the County is eligible to receive Federal and/or State funding for certain Transportation Projects, through the California Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, routine Program Supplemental Agreements need to be executed with the California Department of Transportation before such funds could be claimed; and I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown. NOW, THEREFORE,the Board hereby approves said Administering Agency-State Agreement for State Funded Projects Master Agreement No. 04-5928R and authorizes the Chair, Board of Supervisors to execute said Agreement and the Board authorizes the Public Works Director or its designee to approve and execute routine program supplements.
