FISCAL IMPACT The total annual cost to the County associated with this Resolution is $59,500.00. BACKGROUND This Resolution would authorize the employees in the job classifications listed in Appendix A to, the attached Resolution to receive the following: 1. Wage increases of 2% effective July 1, 2007 and 2% effective July 1, 2008. 2. A one-time lump sum payment of $1,500.00 for employees hired before January 1, 2006, who are in a paid status, in a permanent or temporary position as of November 1, 2006. Employees in part- time, permanent-intermittent, or temporary positions shall receive the one-time payment of $1,500.00 on a prorated basis. The one-time payment shall be subject to all of the usual tax withholding and retirement deductions and shall be paid on the December 10, 2006 pay warrant. 3. A one-time award of twenty-four (24) work leave hours. Permanent part-time and permanent- intermittent employees shall receive the one-time award on a pro-rated basis. Work-leave balances will be cleared upon termination, promotion, demotion, or transfer to an ineligible classification, or on September 30, 2008. Salary Increase: Management and unrepresented classifications listed in Appendix A attached to this Resolution, shall receive a two percent (2%) increase in the base rate of pay effective July 1, 2007, and a two percent(2%) increase in the base rate of pay effective July 1, 2008; 2. $1,500 One Time Payment: Management and unrepresented classifications listed in Appendix A attached to this Resolution, hired before January 1, 2006, who are in paid status, in permanent or temporary positions as of November 1, 2006, shall receive a one-time payment of $1,500.00. Employees in permanent part- time, permanent-intermittent, or temporary positions shall receive the one-time payment of $1,500.00 on a prorated basis. The one-time payment shall be subject to the usual tax withholding and retirement deductions and shall be made on the December 10, 2006 pay warrant. For permanent part-time, permanent-intermittent, and temporary employees, the payment shall be prorated by multiplying each hour reported during the July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 by $.72, rounded to the nearest dollar, with a minimum payment of$50.00. 3. One-Time 24 Hours Work Leave Award: Management and unrepresented classifications as listed in Appendix A attached to this Resolution, who are in active, leave, or paid leave status in a permanent full- time, permanent part-time, or permanent-intermittent position as of December 31, 2006, shall receive a one- time award of twenty-four (24) work-leave hours. Permanent part-time and permanent-intermittent employees shall receive the one-time award on a pro-rated basis. A. Permanent part-time employees shall receive a prorated one-time award of twenty-four (24) hours based on dividing the employee's official standard hours by forty (40) and multiplying by twenty-four (24), rounded to the nearest hour with a minimum award of four(4) hours. B. Permanent-intermittent employees shall receive a prorated one-time award of twenty-four (24) hours based on each employee's average regular hours worked during July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, multiplied by twenty-four(24), rounded to the nearest hour with a minimum award of four(4) hours. C. Excluding those employees in 24/7 shift positions, work-leave balances will be cleared upon termination, promotion, demotion, or transfer to an ineligible classification, or on September 30, 2008. Employees in 24/7 shift positions that are unable to use their work-leave hours will be paid off for any unused time upon approval by the Human Resources Director. D. Employees shall be granted their choice of a work-leave day, whenever possible. If an employee is not granted their choice of a work-leave day, the supervisor shall suggest alternate dates. If the employee and supervisor cannot agree on an alternate date, the employee shall observe a work-leave day on the employee's birthday. An employee, whose birthday falls on a scheduled day off, may observe a work-leave day immediately preceding or following the employee's birthday. The provisions of this Resolution shall apply only to the job classifications listed in Appendix A and to such other classes in existence as of November 1, 2006 that may have been inadvertently omitted from Appendix A.
