This action will result in no net County cost. BACKGROUND: The Health Services Department has requested a reallocation of the Public Health Nurse Program Manager salary due to significant salary compaction between the Public Health Nurse classification and the Public Health Nurse Program Manager classification due to negotiated adjustments in the Local 1 contract agreement. HR Staff has found that there is significant salary compaction between the Public Health Nurse and Public Health Nurse Program Manager. There is only a .05%differential between the top steps of these classifications This action will alleviate the salary compaction between the Public Health Nurse and Public Health Nurse Program Manager by increasing the differential between the top steps to 5%. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this request is not approved, there will be significant salary compaction between the Public Health Nurse classification and the Public Health Nurse Program Manager classification.
