APPROVE a Lease with Enea Square Partners, a California Limited Partnership, commencing January 1, 2007, and ending December 31, 2009, for 7,915 square feet of office space at 1470 Enea Circle, Suite 1500, Concord, for continued occupancy by the Employment and Human Services Department. 2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to EXECUTE the Lease. 3. DETERMINE that the above Lease is a Class 1 (a) Categorical Exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). 4. DIRECT the Director of Community Development, or designee, to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk, and DIRECT the Director of General Services, or designee, to arrange for the payment of the handling fees to the Community Development Department and County Clerk for filing of the Notice of Exemption. FINANCIAL IMPACT Approval of the Lease will obligate the County Employment and Human Services Department to pay $612,720 in rent over the three-year lease term. Funding for the current fiscal year rent payments is budgeted in the Employment and Human Services Department FY 2006/2007 budget. Future year rent payments will be included in the Employment and Human Services Department budget. BACKGROUND The County has leased the 7,915 square feet of classroom and office space at 1470 Enea Circle, Suite 1500, Concord since March 2001, for occupancy by the Employment and Human Services Department. The Lease provides for an additional three-year term, as requested by the Employment and Human Services Department. The rental cost of $17,020 per month is $1,184.50 per month less than the current month rent payment. The rental rate of $2.15 per square foot per month includes all common area management charges, utilities, and taxes.
