HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12192006 - C.78 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker,M.D., Health Services Director Costa By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator °` DATE: County SUBJECT: Approval of Novation Contract#24-927-10 with Asian Pacific Psychological Services C SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24-927-10 with Asian Pacific Psychological Services, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $433,450, to provide school and conununity based mental health services and wraparound services for Asian children and their families for the period from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. This Contract includes a six- month automatic extension through December 31, 2007, in an amount not to exceed$216,725. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 40% by Federal FFP Medi-Cal, 48% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT), and 12%by Mental Health Realignment. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This EPSDT Program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). On November 15, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-927-9 with Asian Pacific Psychological Services for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, (with a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2006) for the provision of school and community based mental health services to Asian children and families. Approval of Novation Contract #24-927-10 replaces the automatic extension under the prior contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2007.
