(Budgeted, Federal and State funds) (All Districts) FISCAL IMPACT: I The cost of this contract is funded by the departments Head Start and Early Head Start grants as well as the department's Child Development funds. The cost of the contract is included in the Community Services Department's FY 2006-07 budget. There is no net County cost to this I contract. BY: -.DEPUTY I Community Services Department Page Two Susan Cooke contract December 19, 2006 I CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Community Services Department's Head Start program supports two of Contra Costa County's community outcomes: "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School" and "Families that are Safe. Stable. and Nurturing." These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services. including high quality early childhood education. nutrition, and health services to low- income children throughout Contra Costa County. I BACKGROUND: The proposed contract will provide the Department with expert training and technical assistance for teaching staff and site supervisors. The Contractor will assist in the advancement of developmentally appropriate learning environments, mentoring strategies and child development file maintenance. Approval of this contract will assist the Department to meet Head Start and State standards and regulations. I i I i
