FISCAL IMPACT: The total annual cost associated with this action is $77,012 and is offset from Land Development Application Fees (non-General Fund monies). BACKGROUND: The Current Planning Division continues to experience an increase of planning applications. The department requests that Planner I-Project position # 12673 and incumbent be transferred into the Merit System to provide professional planning staff support to the Division. Currently, the incumbent is assigned less complex land use application to assist the Senior Planners assigned to the multi- million dollar refinery/pipeline projects, which will soon be winding down. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: In sufficient professional planning and technical support staff to the Current Planning Division and subject employee not becoming a permanent Merit System employee.
