Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence Initiative 0, 40 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE an additional $48,000 in vital records fees and appropriate to fund oversight and coordination of domestic violence prevention, intervention and prosecution efforts in the County, pursuant to the "Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence" Act (Health & Safety Code §103626 and Welfare & Institutions Code §18308). REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On December 12, 2006, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2006/717 authorizing a $1.00 per copy increase for certified copies of marriage certificates, birth certificates and death/fetal death records effective January 1, 2007 for the purpose of providing funding for the County government's oversight and coordination of domestic violence prevention, intervention and prosecution efforts in the County.
