SUBJECT: Position Adjustment Resolution #19984
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution #19984 adding one Management
Analyst III position in the County Administrator's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT: The cost associated with this action is approximately $98,000 annually and will be
offset by increased Vehicle License Fee revenue.
BACKGROUND: Over the past few years, there have been several employees who have retired
from the budget division and their positions were never backfilled. The additional Management
Analyst III position is needed to address the heavy workload in the County Administrator's Office.
This position will be responsible for assisting the budget division with fiscal analysis, providing staff
support to the Policy Forum Executive Committee, and coordinating and producing the bi-annual
County Performance Report and Children's Report Card. Currently these duties are divided up
amongst existing staff as well as one contract employee.
RESULT OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the CAO's office will not have
sufficient staff to address the current workload. This hinders their ability to meet the Board of
Supervisors needs and expectations in a timely and efficient manner.
