Reasons for Recommendations and Backeround:
Developments in the Bishop Ranch area of San Ramon were conditioned to pay traffic mitigation fees for the
purpose of constructing specified off-site road improvements. The County started collecting funds from Bishop
Ranch developments in 1985. San Ramon City Council in 1987 signed a contract with the County to annex Bishop
Ranch. The Board approved a Board Order dated August 30, 1988 transferring$408,000 to the City of San Ramon
from the Bishop Ranch AOB and authorizing the Public"Works Director to make quarterly disbursements to the City
as additional funds are accrued.
Since the City of San Ramon is now responsible for the Bishop Ranch Area of Benefit, the County Bishop Ranch
Area of Benefit fee program is no longer needed. All the projects to be funded with the traffic mitigation fees
collected from developments in the Bishop Ranch area are within the City limits of San Ramon. Approval of this
board order will transfer the remaining balance of about$270,000 to the City of San Ramon and close the County
Bishop Ranch Area of Benefit Fund 1391, Org 0681 and program.
Consequencesof Nep-ative;Action:
The City of San Ramon will not receive approximately$270,000 to fund projects within the Bishop Ranch Area of
San Ramon and the Bishop Ranch AOB will not be closed.
