HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10252005 - C52 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FROM: Contra William Walker,M.D.,Health Services Director By: Jacqueline Pigg,Contracts Administrator a Costa DATE: October 12, 2005 County SUBJECT: Approve Standard Agreement#29-392-23 with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RFf'nMMT.NnATTnN(,�1: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee-(Art Lathrop) to execute on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement #29-392-23 (State #EMS-5047) and its Contractor Certification Clauses, with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, in an amount not to exceed $142,149, for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006. In accordance with the term of this agreement, County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Contactor from and against any and all liability, loss, expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees), or claims for injury or damages arising out of the performance'of this agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement by the State will result in an amount not to exceed $142,149 of State funding for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project for FY 2005-2006. No County funds are required. RACKG]JQ1TNDjRFASQN(S)FOR]RECOMMENDATION(S): On September 21, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29-392-21 (as amended by Standard Agreement Amendment #29-392-22), with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, for the period from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project. Approval of Standard Agreement#29-392-23 will continue State funding for the Medical Disaster Planning Project services through June 30, 2006, and allow staff to continue to enhance the County's disaster preparedness by improving coordination between counties, cities, hospitals, Emergency Medical Services agencies and the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, in the event of an earthquake or other disaster. Five sealed/certified copies of this Board Order should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the State Emergency Medical Services Authority.
