SUBJECT: Drafting Consultation
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the County Assessor,or designee,to execute a contract amendment with Larry Black to
extend the term of the contract from October 31,2005 to January 31, 2006 and to increase the payment limit by
$14,820 to a new payment limit of$94,050 for continuing specialized drafting services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
AB589 Property Tax Administration funds will be used to offset the cost of this contract amendment.
BACKGROUND:
The Assessor's Office is currently responsible for maintaining the Geographical Information System(GIS)parcel
layer and property boundary features base map. As part of this effort,we are working towards restructuring our
business process workflows for maintaining land parcel information within a GIS environment. During this
transitional period, Mr. Black will assist in performing specialized manual and computer aided drafting services.
The Assessor's Office has discussed this matter with Public Employees Union, Local#1 and they concur with
this contract amendment.
