SUBJECT: Bella Flora First Source Hiring Agreement
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE & AUTHORIZE the Redevelopment Director to execute a First Source Hiring Agreement
with KB Home South Bay, Inc. to provide employment opportunities for North Richmond residents.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None to the General Fund.
BACKGROUND,:
KB Home South Bay has received approval of a 173-lot residential subdivision in the North Richmond
area (DP 033051 and SD 038755). The project, now referred to as Bella Flora, includes a condition of
approval requiring a First Source Hiring Agreement with the Redevelopment Agency.
The main components of the Bella Flora First Source Hiring Agreement encompasses two North
Richmond Municipal Advisory Council sponsored job fairs, one (1) job fair exclusively for North
Richmond Youthbuild participants, 15 permanent full-time positions, advance employment notification,
and a best effort commitment by KB to hire over and beyond the agreed upon shd referenced
above.
