Minority Small Business Person of the Year )
WHEREAS, C�nthia A. Liu was born and raised in Honolulu and came to California, where she attended
college at UC Berkeley, and upon graduating in 1990,earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering,and
WHEREAS, Cynthia A. Liu worked as a consultant for eighteen months and then returned to Berkeley to
complete her graduate degree in civil engineering on environmental studies;and
WHEREAS, Cynthia A. Liu formed Engineering,/Remediation Resource Group in 1997 with four colleagues.
The focal point being engineering and construction services for clients;and
WHEREAS, C�ithia A. Liu has more than thirteen years experience in the environmental and hazardous waste
management industry. She's won high praise from government and private custome-rs;and
WHEREAS, C)vnthlia A. Liu has been instrumental in the success of completing $2,604,000 in contracts last
year. Total sales. have grown from $6.1 million to more than $14.3 million from contracts with federal and state
agencies, as well as commercial clients.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby
honor Cynthia A. Liu as U.S. Small Business Administration's Regional Minority Small Business Person of the
Year on September 2?, 2005.
PASSED AADADOPTED ON October 4, 2005 by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
