FISCAL. IMPACT: This action will result in an annual cost savings of $4,125. Funding for this position is within the Department's budget. There will be no County General Fund monies used. BACKGROUND: The Public Defender currently has a temporary employee performing the duties and responsibilities of a Network Administrator 11. The addition of a permanent Network Administrator 11 position in the Public Defender would eliminate the need of a temporary employee in this position. FISCAL IMPACT: This action will cost$18,896 annually. The cost increase is within the department's budget and is recovered through user fees. BACKGROUND: This action reallocates the salary of the Telecommunications Manager classification to correspond with previous adjustments made to the First District Telecommunications Manager and Sheriff's Telecommunications Technology Manager. On December 14, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved Position Adjustment Resolution Number 19743 but that action failed to compensate for the 2004 Cost of Living Allowance ince. This amendment corrects that oversight. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Failure to approve this adjustment would result in a misalignment of the salaries for the classifications of Telecommunications Manager, Fire District Telecommunications Manager and Sheriffs Telecommunications Technology Manager. FISCAL IMPACT: The Health Services Department has estimated the cost associated with this request to be $82,700.00 to include benefits and will be funded by the Homeless Program-Project Coming Home Grant. The cost will also be offset by the cancellation of the temporary position. BACKGROUND: The Health Services Department is requesting to add one Health Services Planner Evaluator/Level A position to work in the Public Health Division. The incumbent in this position will work with the Community Health Assessment, Planning and Evaluation Unit and perform the following duties: conducting and reporting on community assessments, assisting in the development of community health action plans, assisting with program evaluations, responding to data request, utilizing health related data basis to develop health information, and preparing maps, charts and graphs summarizing relevant data findings. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Community Health Assessment, Planning and Evaluation unit is responsible for gathering data to assess community health needs.
