CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in family satisfaction as measured by the Parent Satisfaction Survey and Decrease in use of acute care system, 0 BACKGROUND/REASON(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S). This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services, including a 24-hour hotline, grief counseling and community mental health education for residents of Contra Costa County. On November 2. 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-700-50 with Contra Costa Crisis Center for the period from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, (which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31,2005)for the provision of crisis intervention, suicide prevention'. and mental health rehabilitative services. On November 30,, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-707-44 with Contra Costa Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc. for the period from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, (which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2005) for the provision of EPSDT and day treatment programs for high risk, delayed,or emotionally disturbed children.
