Director of Human Resources ., -"'-� ;;,�o Count DATE: December 6, 2005 couK SUBJECT: P300 #1 9964A-Health Services SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 19964A, amending the action of Position Adjustment Resolution Number 19964 to read TRANSITION position #12071 and position #12358 from Patient Financial Services Specialist-Project (V9V1) into the merit system to Patient Financial Services Specialist (V9VB). FISCAL IMPACT: There is no additional cost associated with this request. BACKGROUND: The Department was granted approval earlier this spring to create the merit system classification of Patient Financial Services Specialist and transfer all positions and incumbents of the classification of Patient Financial Services Specialist-Project into the new merit system classification. At the time there were two incumbents who did not complete the appropriate number of work hours in order to qualify for the transfer. The Department is requesting this change since the two incumbents have fulfilled the work hour's requirement necessary to transfer to the merit system classification. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The consequence of negative action will result in the incumbents remaining as project employees. The Financial Counseling unit continues to have a need to make these two positions merit positions as the number of clients served continues to increase.
