HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12272005 - C.37 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ,j ,, Contra C­ 3 Costa FROM: John Cullen, Director County COs•„ __ ;C,Q' Employment and Human Se` v partment rq ro�K DATE: December 27, 2005 SUBJECT: Approve and Authorize an amended Contract with YMCA of the East Bay-West Contra Costa Branch by decreasing the paymient limit by$25,000 from $165,000 to $140,000 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with YMCA of the East Bay-West Contra Costa Branch, effective January 1, 2006, to decrease the payment limit by$25,000 to a new payment limit of$140,000 with no change in the term of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, to provide reduced Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) services. (Budgeted, Promoting Safe and Stable Families Funds: 100%Federal;No County Costs. State Family Preservation Funds: 30% County, 70% State; County Redesign Funds: 100% State) (Districts 1) FINANCIAL IMPACT: $19,000: State Family Preservation Funds, 70% State; 30% County $101,000: Promoting Safe and Stable Families, 100% Federal $20,000: County Redesign Funds, 100% State CHII,DRF,N'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families," by providing resource and referrals to support of self-sufficiency. BACKGROUND: The amendment to reduce the contract payment limit is the result of a decrease in the amount of Federal funds made available to counties this fiscal year. YMCA of the East Bay is the fiscal agent for a group of non-profit agencies that address the needs of the Coronado area through a range of services to youth and adults including providing support to children who have witnessed or been victims of violent crime, assisting teen women transition to independent living, parenting classes, after school programs, and early child mental health programs.
