DATE. DECEMBER 20, 2005 PAGE: 2 of 2 REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: The County developed a program that uses education and infrastructure to preserve and protect drinking water quality, recreational uses and environmental health in the Delta. In September 2002,the County applied for and was awarded a Proposition 13 Grant($985,000) from the State Water Resource Control Board to implement a manna and recreational boating program called,"Keep the Delta Clean. You Play In It.You Drink It Too!"(Program). The Program is currently implementing pollution prevention infrastructure and an outreach campaign in the Delta region to reduce the potential impacts from marina operation, recreational boating and waterfront residency on Delta water quality. Due to the technical nature and need for staff resources to run the Program efficiently, the County seeks to amend and maintain Jennie McClay's contract to provide a variety of technical assistance and program management tasks, CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without approval, the County could lose sufficient staff to fulfill its contract with the State Water Resource Control Board, and thus risks denial of grant reimbursements. k,u5ta county CONTRACT AMENDMENT AGREEMENT Number 7517 otandaa-d Form L-7 (Purchase of Services -Long Form) Fund/Org# 6W Revised 2002 Account# Other# 1.
