SUBJECT: RECOGNIZING COUNTY OFFICIALS UPON RECIEPT OF
CSAC'S PRESTIGIOUS CIRCLE OF SERVICE AWARDS
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
RECOGNIZE County Administrator John Sweeten, Community Development Director Dennis
Barry, and Deputy Public Works Director Mitch Avalon, each upon their receipt of CSAC's
(California State Association of Counties) prestigious "Circle of Service Award".
BACKGROUND:
U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, legislators, a past member of Governor Schwa rzenegger's
Administration and other state and county officials were honored in San Jose on December 1,
2005 by the California State Association of Counties (CSAC). More than 800 county leaders
gathered at the San Jose Convention Center Nov. 29 — Dec. 2 for the association's 111th Annual
Meeting
Among other awards, CSACs Executive Committee also recognized 12 individuals from the
county family with Circle of Service Awards:
