SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute an amendment to the May 18,
2004 Rental Agreement with Steve and Jennifer Hudson, in connection with the Realignment of
Pacheco Boulevard Project. Pacheco Area. District IV. [CP 01-93]

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director,or designee,to execute an amendment to the May
18, 2004 Rental Agreement and, if necessary, any future amendments to said agreement.
The amendment modifies the Rental Agreement as follows: "1. TERM: The term of this tenancy shall be
commencing on March 1, 2004, continuing until December 31, 2004."
II. Fiscal Impact: County will continue to receive a monthly rental fee of$500.00. The fees will be deposited
into the County Road Funds.
11. Background and Reasons for Recommendations:
On May 18,2004,Steve and Jennifer Hudson entered into an eight-month Rental Agreement with the County.
The Tenants have requested an extension of an additional two months in order to complete the construction of
their new facility and relocate at that time. The County has agreed to extend said agreement with a new
termination date of December 31, 2004.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The County will incur expenses for temporary move.

AMENDMENT TO RENTAL
AGREEMENT
1. EFFECTIVE DAA AND PARTIES. Effective on , Contra
Costa County (herein called "COUNTY"), and Steve Hudson and Jennifer
Hudson therein called "TENTANT"), mutually agree as follows:
2. EURPOSE. The parties desire to amend the agreement they entered
into, effective May 18, 2004, entitled "Rental Agreement," to provide a
time extension for the term of tenancy.
3. AMENDMENT. Said agreement is hereby amended as follows:
1. TERM: Change the termination date from October 31, 2004, to
December 31, 2004.
"The term of this tenancy shall be commencing March 1, 2004,
continuing until December 31, 20134."
4. EEFET, Except for the amendment agreed to herein, said agreement
remains in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this Agreement has been executed, in triplicate by and
on behalf of the parties hereto, the day and year first above written.
